| Details of property for sale |
We love our substantial Sussex style house with its marvellous sense of light and space, and truly wonderful views from the rear of the house, but the children have gone and now it?s our turn. If we could pick the whole thing up and take it with us we certainly would, but we can?t. Perhaps you would like it.
Set well back from the road, our house is only a fifteen minute walk from the town centre, yet has a semi rural feel, with fields on two sides. It is also within easy walking distance of local community college and on the bus route to Eastbourne, Hastings and Tunbridge Wells.
Hailsham, an old market town with market day on Wednesday, has a good selection of shops including two supermarkets, a variety of pubs and restaurants, a cinema and an excellent leisure centre with pool.
THE HOUSE...
Downstairs
Entrance porch. Spacious hall (with under-stairs storage cupboard) from which the double garage and all other ground floor rooms fan out.
Downstairs toilet with full sized wash basin
Seriously large, comfortable sitting-room (21'10 x 14'8) with open fire, window seat (not included in room dimensions) and double french doors to the rear patio. Windows overlook trees to side and rear garden with views
Solid-wood, fitted kitchen / breakfast room (15'2 x 14'5) with promenade cooking/preparation area (gas hob + electric oven) , built in appliances and breakfast area. Handy additional access to dining room from kitchen through double doors.
Dining Room (14'4 x 10'5 off Kitchen and hall) A cosy bright room ,with windows to side patio area and front. Seats eight comfortably.
Study (9'10 x 6'11) plus walk-in shelved storage cupboard.

En-suite with bath , wc , basin and separate power shower cubicle.
Bedroom 2 (18' x 13'2) triple aspect, with sloping eaves and lots of character. Our teenagers have loved this room.
Bedroom 3: (11'4 x 7'9 ) single room with vanity unit wash basin and wonderful rear views
Bedroom 4: (11'10 x 10'4 into recess ) small double ,at present is being used as an office.
Airing cupboard
Family bathroom with additional over-bath power shower.
Access to the boarded storage loft is by extendable ladder.
All windows in the house are double glazed. Gas fired central heating throughout.
Outside
Rear garden with uninterrupted views beyond Pevensey castle.
It is a very pretty design with some mature trees, including a plum, loads of shrubs and flowers an ornamental pond with water feature, raised lawn area and large paved patio.
To the side of the house there is a further area of lawn and a pleasant paved seating area beneath a vine-covered pergola, ideal for barbecues.
There is also a large shed which has perhaps seen better days, but is good for storing garden furniture and tools. Next to it is a fenced off area for bins etc.
At the front of the house there are raised beds well stocked with shrubs and flowers, and ample parking space on the drive for two or three cars.
The double, integral garage (18' x 16'5) includes a utility area with large sink and plumbing for washing machine as well as a vent for tumble dryer etc.
Please feel free to phone any time with any questions you may have or to arrange a viewing.
