LOCAL INFORMATION:
Teignmouth and Shaldon could reasonably be described as the jewels in Devon’s crown. Why? Because they are absolutely unique, offering so much more than other holiday areas.

The seaside town of Teignmouth lies opposite the pretty village of Shaldon separated by the River Teign. There is a passenger ferry (believed to be the oldest in the UK) that operates all day everyday or you can walk over the bridge or use the car.

Teignmouth enjoys lovely beaches and Victorian architecture and even a traditional pier. Sufficient shops to buy just about anything and a fine selection of pubs, wine bars and good quality restaurants. The culture of continental style open air cafes is very much part of living here.

For the children there is the Lido heated swimming pool, indoor sports centre, new crazy golf and other amusements on the sea front. Sea fishing/river trips.

Shaldon is an old historic quaint village right on the waterside, where again you can enjoy café/pub life adjacent to the beach. Great restaurants and relaxed life style. The beach plays host to sun bathing, swimming, horse riding and twice a year the annual sailing events of the water carnival and regatta. The village boasts one of the largest 18 hole pitch and putt golf courses with definitely the best views ever.

Both Teignmouth and Shaldon have every commitment to fun with all the amenities they provide, so in addition to the relaxed comfortable days, you can enjoy at night live music in many of the pubs. In fact Teignmouth hosts a well known Jazz Festival every year.

When you want to visit a neighbouring town try Torquay and Brixham – bristling with shops and boats and night life. The historical city of Exeter and the market town of Newton Abbot all within 15 minutes drive. Teignmouth has its own golf course with outstanding views.
