| Details of property for sale |
The following property for sale is a centrally situated two bedroomed upper floor flat with a garden.
The property has been lived in by one family when it was constructed in 1931.
Ideally suited for a first time buyer or as a buy to let opportunity. The property is in need of some modernisation although has all of the original fittings and should be looked upon as a blank canvas that could be made into a very comfortable home with a minimum of expense. The property is heated with electric white storage heaters.
Should extra space be required, several other properties in the cul-de-sac have added rooms by converting the considerable loft space, planning permission is not considered a problem to carry out any similar work.
The property is quite literally a stones throw away from the shores of Lochryan, a 5 minute walk to the town centre and a 5 minute walk to both primary and secondary schools.
Stranraer has a population of approx 11,000 and is situated in the South West of Scotland. It has one of the mildest climates in the UK.The Gulf Stream flows directly over this area which is evident with the botanical gardens at Portlogan and several other gardens throughout the region which grow rare species of plants not usually seen in the UK. Other pursuits include golf, fishing, shooting, walking, equestrian, and sailing.
Stranraer is the gateway to Northern Ireland and both Fast Ferries (HSS) and conventional ferries leave the port at regular intervals, the HSS takes approx 1.5 hrs for the crossing, which will be shortened to approx 1 hr when they move seven miles up the loch.
The new seafront development which is estimated to cost £55 million has already started and will continue to grow when the ferries move up the loch. There are already yachts berthed at the new harbour area.
