At the end of 1996, the marriage Martinez & amp; Munoz acquired the farm named 'Los Ceperos' with the purpose of its transformation and agricultural exploitation.

This 18th Century farmhouse after its reconstruction was the family’s holiday house and the place of the first experiences in fermentation with Monastrell’s grape which has been cultivated in this area for several years.

In 1999 the replantation and the enlargement of vineyard’s surface was finished, and incorporated the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The same year it was also constituted the society Bodegas Los Ceperos, which is named after the farm and the land.

There is a modern and spacious factory with enough capacity to increase future productions of the wine.The underground cellar for the large barrels and the wine-rack is finished and there is modern warehouses for the fermentation. There is an additional area to store the the large oak barrels for maturing.

Los Ceperos wine-cellar is in the Murcian locality of Cehegin, in a little valley which takes the name, at the foot of 'La Sierra de la Lavia' and the Mula river’s source.

The farm has a vineyard’s plantation of 20 hectares, 60% is Monastrell and the remains Cabernet sauvignon and Merlot.

Located in the hillside that forms the valley, with an average altitude of 800 meters above sea level, the ground is clay-calcareous, zones with red land and black alluvials.

CLIMATE:

The Province of Murcia has a continental climate with a mediterranean influence. Rainfalls are scarce with the annual average no more than 500 cm, mainly in Spring and Autumn. With a heavy and generous sunshine that permits to reach more than 2.000 hours of sunshine per year, the decrease of the night temperatures makes the morning fogs that bring additional humidity to the microclimate of the zone.
